ANTOLIN GARCIA-TORRES INDICTED FOR THE MURDER OF SIERRA LAMAR

 

The Santa Clara County Criminal Grand Jury today indicted Antolin Garcia-Torres for a series of violent attacks on South Bay women in 2009 and the 2012 kidnapping and murder of 15-year-old Sierra LaMar.

Garcia-Torres, 22, will be arraigned Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The charges previously filed by the District Attorney’s Office will effectively be replaced by the grand jury’s indictment.

Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen said: “The District Attorney’s Office took this case to the criminal grand jury to expedite the lengthy criminal process, which began almost two years ago. Sierra’s family, the surviving victims, and our entire community, deserves justice.”

Once the defendant is arraigned, Deputy District Attorney David Boyd will ask that the case be set for trial.
