(408) 792-2533 For release on March 25, 2011 ASSEMBLYMEMBER CAMPOS HONORS ROLANDA PIERRE-DIXON AS WOMAN OF THE YEAR IN THE STATE ASSEMBLY District Attorney Jeff Rosen announces that Assistant District Attorney Rolanda Pierre-Dixon was honored at a ceremony held in the Assembly Chambers, as Woman of the Year by State Assemblymember Nora Campos (D-San Jose) for her tireless efforts to prevent and end domestic violence in Santa Clara County. Ms. Pierre-Dixon is an expert on domestic violence issues. She started the domestic violence unit in 1991 and has supervised that unit for over 17 years. Her commitment to domestic violence issues spans over 20 years. Currently she is the supervisor over the Family Violence Unit, Victim Witness Advocates, Criminal Issuing and the Victim Restitution Unit. She is the Office liaison on Human Trafficking. Ms. Pierre-Dixon serves on numerous committees and currently holds an executive office position on the Domestic Violence Council. She chairs the DV Death Review Committee and submits its final report each year. Pierre-Dixon is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley, Advisory Board member of the SJSU School of Nursing, Board member of the SJSU Administration of Justice Bureau and is a Member of the State Bar Commission on Access and Fairness. In the past, Ms. Pierre-Dixon was a Former Commissioner of the Social Services Commission, Chair of the Santa Clara County Bar Association Professional Committee, Board member of the California District Attorney’s Association, Chair of the Women in Law Committee of the State Bar, Chair of the Santa Clara County Women Lawyer’s Committee, Chair of the Santa Clara County Black Lawyer’s Association, and Co-chair of Minority Access Committee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Ms. Pierre-Dixon is a graduate of San Jose State University, and the University of Santa Clara Law School. She received her JD in 1980. # # #
