DEFENDANT ARRESTED IN $1.5 MILLION THEFT FROM STANFORD UNIVERSITY
Peter Trinca, age 54, of  Foster City, was arrested today following an investigation by the Stanford University Department of Public Safety. He is charged with one felony count of grand theft (Penal Code section 484-487(a)) and is alleged to have stolen over $1.5 million from Stanford University.   Trinca managed the Pulse Copy Center on the Stanford campus from 2000 to 2003. It is alleged that in order to receive promotions and financial incentives from his employer, College Enterprises, Inc., Trinca fraudulently and systematically provided false billing statements to numerous departments at Stanford University and Stanford Hospital for copy services that had not been provided.   Trinca’s next court date is November 9, 2004, in the Santa Clara County Superior Court. If convicted, he could face up to six years in state prison.   ###
