(408) 686-3606 For Release on November 25, 2003 DRIVER SENTENCED TO 4 YEARS STATE PRISON IN VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER Charles Spear was sentenced today to four years in state prison for committing vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, and reckless driving causing bodily injury. Mr. Spear caused the death of Rosalie Pena, and injured Rose Castaneda on August 6, 2003. The crash occurred on Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, a few blocks from the site of the Pena family restaurant, the Sinaloa Café.
