(408) 792-2551 For release on December 7, 2006 FELONY CHARGES FILED AGAINST MARK BELL FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE AND HIT AND RUN The District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against San Jose Sharks hockey player Mark Bell for driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and for felony hit and run based on an incident that occurred September 4, 2006, at approximately 1 a.m. in Milpitas. The complaint alleges that the defendant’s blood alcohol level was 0.15 percent or more. If convicted, the defendant could face up to 3 years 8 months in state prison. The defendant must appear for arraignment on January 3, 2007, at 2 p.m. in Department 23 of the Hall of Justice. # # #
