(408) 792-2574   For release on August 14, 2009   JURY FINDS LOS GATOS DOCTOR GUILTY OF SEXUAL BATTERY   After five hours of deliberations, a San Jose jury returned a guilty verdict Friday afternoon, finding 54-year old Dr. Jose Bolanos guilty of a sole count of misdemeanor sexual battery. In August 2008, Bolanos inappropriately touched a female patient during an examination. Bolanos was arrested by Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police in September 2008.  After his arrest, several past patients as well as former medical workers came forward to report past incidents with Dr. Bolanos.   Bolanos works as a gynecologist at the La Femme Health Care Center in Los Gatos and has practiced medicine in Santa Clara County for more than twenty years.   His next court date will be on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 9:00am in Dept. 39.  A date for his sentencing has not been set.  He faces a maximum sentence of one year in the county jail.   ###
