(408) 792-2543 For Immediate Release on July 12, 2002 Jury Finds Man Who Left 5-Month Old Child in Hot Car Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter On July 19, 2002, a Santa Clara County jury found Brian Palmer Gilbert guilty of felony involuntary manslaughter for leaving his 5-month old son unattended in a hot car for close to 3 hours resulting in the child’s death. Gilbert will be sentenced by the Honorable Rene Navarro on October 4, 2002 at 9:00 a.m., in Department 39 of the Superior Court located at 190 Hedding St., San Jose (Docket #CC117616). He faces a minimum of probation with no incarceration to a maximum of four years in state prison. ###
