(408) 792-2823 For release on June 13, 2006 MASSIVE SEIZURE IN TRADEMARK VIOLATION INVESTIGATION On June 8, 2006, agents from the REACT Task Force, assisted by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, executed a search warrant on Cyberhome, a Fremont company that is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and importers of DVD devices. The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal manufacture and sale of products bearing counterfeit trademarks. California Penal Code section 350(a) provides for imprisonment for up to three years and fines up to $500,000 for manufacture, possession, or sale of more than 1,000 items bearing a counterfeit mark. REACT agents seized 8 tractor trailer loads of infringing DVD recorders; estimated retail value of the 20,000 plus units exceeds $2 million. # # #
