PROPOSITION 69 - DNA COLLECTION FROM CONVICTED FELONS - ONE YEAR LATER
In November of 2004 the voters passed Proposition 69 which allows the collection of DNA from all persons convicted of felonies and those arrested for murder and specified sex crimes. The District Attorney’s Office and Department of Correction will hold a joint news conference to report on DNA “hits,” crimes solved, and a demonstration of DNA being collected from an eligible candidate.
