For release on September 29, 2009   SAN JOSE MAN SENTENCED FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Rodney Stafford sentenced Mr. David Adler on Monday, after the defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of possession of child pornography. Mr. Adler received three years of formal probation, and he was ordered to perform 200 hours of volunteer work. He is also prohibited from participating in any organized activity involving minors during probation. In addition, Mr. Adler is required to register as a sex offender for life, pursuant to section 290 of the Penal Code.
The charges arose from the discovery that Mr. Adler possessed child pornography in two separate computers in San Jose, both at home and work. Judge Stafford convicted Mr. Adler on September 14, 2009, after a court trial.
Mr. Adler is a former Assistant Scout Master for a Boy Scout troop and has worked as a Chief Technologist for a Silicon Valley semiconductor company.
