FROM: Nick Muyo, Public Information Officer 408-792-2826   CONTACT PERSON:  Nick Muyo, Public Information Officer 408-792-2826, or   Amy Cornell, Public Information Officer 408-792-2997   For release on January 14, 2008   SANTA CLARA COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY ANNOUNCES OFFICE REASSIGNMENTS   Santa Clara County District Attorney Dolores Carr unveiled plans today for significant organizational changes among her upper management positions, which will take effect on Monday, January 14, 2008.   The following reassignments have been announced:   Assistant District Attorney David Tomkins will assume responsibility for the Family Violence Unit.  He will continue to supervise the Homicide Unit, the Sexual Assault Unit, the Forensic Mental Issues, and be the office’s liaison to the Civil Grand Jury.   Assistant District Attorney Rolanda Pierre-Dixon will assume responsibility for the Narcotics and Complaint Units, the Probation Violation Calendar, the Preliminary Hearings Team and Restitution Services.  She will continue supervision of the Juvenile Dependency Unit, the Burglary/Assault/Theft Team and the Victim/Witness Unit.   Assistant District Attorney David Howe will assume responsibility for the Career Criminal Unit, the Gangs Team, and Juvenile Wards Team.  He will continue supervision of the Misdemeanor Team, as well as the Palo Alto, Sunnyvale and San Martin offices.   Inquiries may be directed to the Public Information Officer for Nick Muyo at 408-792-2826 or for Amy Cornell at 408-792-2997.   ###
