(408) 792-2826   For release on Monday, December 28, 2009     SANTA CLARA COUNTY OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY ASKING FOR PUBLIC’S HELP   On October 2, 2009 at approximately 11:00PM, a lone female was driving in the area of Lundy and Berryessa. As she began to cross the intersection on a green light, a subject, walking his bicycle against a red light, walked in front of her car and was struck by the female victim. One or more people may have witnessed this “accident.” One witness to the accident, who had stopped to identify herself, was hurried along by the suspect and left the scene. The suspect then lured the victim away from the crash scene using a ruse and sexually assaulted her. He was arrested a short time later.   The Office of the District Attorney believes that this offense might have been “staged” by the suspect and, if so, it may not be the first time that he has committed or attempted this offense. We are asking anyone who might have witnessed this offense or been the victim of this suspect to contact our Investigators at 408-792-2713.   Once again, we are advising residents that we have a suspect in custody for this offense but are not releasing his name or photo, at this time, as we attempt to locate additional victims and witnesses.   If you have any information, please contact D.A.
