FROM:  Nick Muyo, Public Information Officer (408) 792-2826   CONTACT PERSON(S): Nick Muyo, Public Information Officer (408) 792-2826   Amy Cornell, Public Information Officer (408) 792-2997   For release on April 15, 2008   SANTA CLARA COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENT AND OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO HOST VICTIMS’ RIGHTS CEREMONY   On Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 6:00PM, the Santa Clara County Probation Department – Juvenile Division and the Santa Clara County Office of the District Attorney will host a Victims’ Rights commemoration and candlelight vigil at the Santa Clara County Government Offices located at 70 West Hedding Street.  This ceremony will coincide with other events nationwide as part of the observance of National Victims’ Rights Week from April 13-19, 2008.   The ceremony will begin inside the Isaac Newton Senter Auditorium and will conclude with a candlelight vigil outside in the McEntee Plaza.  Speakers include District Attorney Dolores Carr, Chief Probation Officer Sheila Mitchell, Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Kurt Kumli and Pat & Debbie Boyd, parents of Christie Wilson, whose October 2005 abduction gripped the nation.    Questions may be directed to Public Information Officers, Nick Muyo at (408) 792-2826 or Amy Cornell at (408) 792-2997.   ###
