DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE     SUPERMARKET OPERATORS CHARGED WITH WORKERS COMPENSATION FRAUD, PAYROLL AND INCOME TAX EVASION IN MAJOR UNDERGROUND ECONOMY CASE   Hung (a.k.a. Henry) Chan Ly, age 53, Ly’s wife, Hung Kien Vuong, 56, and Ing Che Lee, 54, all who reside in San Jose, were arrested today for multiple felonies in a major underground economy case involving violations of the workers ’ compensation law, as well as payroll and income tax evasion. Dale Banda, the Chief of the Fraud Division for the California Department of Insurance, Jose Millan, the Deputy Secretary for Labor Enforcement, Patrick Hill, Public Affairs Officer with the Franchise Tax Board and the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office will hold a news conference at 1:30 p.m. today in the District Attorney’s Office at 70 West Hedding Street, San Jose, CA in the 3rd Floor Conference Room.
