(408) 615-4865 For release on July 31, 2009 VOLUNTEER SECURITY GUARD AT SOCCER GAMES CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES INVOLVING A CHILD 75-year old Thomas Anderson of San Jose was arrested on Friday, July 24th and charged with eight counts of lewd or lascivious act on a child under fourteen. During this year and last year’s soccer seasons, Anderson has been a volunteer security guard for two professional soccer teams in Santa Clara County. While at a soccer game earlier this month, two witnesses reported seeing Anderson acting inappropriately with a child. Anderson’s work with area soccer teams spans the last two decades. Anderson was arraigned on Wednesday, July 29th, and will be back in court on Monday, August 3rd at 2:00pm in Department 23 for plea entry.
