WILLIAM “BILLY” HILL PLEADS NO CONTEST TO VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER Today William “Billy” Hill, 22, pleaded no contest to a charge of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence while under the influence of alcohol and cocaine before The Honorable Diane Northway, Judge of the Superior Court. On October 3, 2003, Hill inflicted fatal wounds when he drove an SUV over Chad Snow, 23. Both Hill and Snow had been at a party in a Palo Alto neighborhood. When a fight broke out, Hill and friends attempted to flee in an SUV. Snow was injured when he jumped on the vehicle’s hood, though Hill was not driving. After Snow fell off the hood, Hill took over driving the SUV. He first left the scene, but returned and drove over Snow who was lying on a sidewalk. Snow was disconnected from life support at Stanford Hospital on October 7, 2003. Sentencing will occur before Judge Northway on January 7, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Hill will receive a four-year state prison sentence. # # #
